Thanks to everybody who helped out with the Keep Britain Tidy Great Plastic Pick Up this weekend. We hit the streets, verges, hedgerows and car parks of Waltham Abbey, collecting  twenty nine bags full of litter across the three days, along with car child seats, assorted shoes and a complete shower curtain.

Nicola Liddard of Waltham Abbey Women’s Institute and Mandy Pomfrett Bass, a Roundhills resident, organised litter picks with support and promotion from the Waltham Abbey Litter Picking Posse.

Between us we covered:

  • Abbey Gardens
  • Part of The Crooked Mile
  • Lee Valley Regional Park areas near McDonalds
  • The Tesco/Limes Medical Centre car park
  • The field behind the Waltham Abbey Swimming Pool on Roundhills
